Ending Online Harassment: A Workshop
Online harassment has become a hot button issue around the world, but amid all the talk of virtual crimes we rarely hear about possible solutions. Is online harassment a solvable problem or just a terrible aberration of our nature that we must be condemned to accept?
This workshop led by The Conference speakers Anita Sarkeesian and Katherine Cross will explain why harassment is neither inevitable nor natural, and look at what people across the tech industry (and, often as not, on its margins or outside of it) are doing to make the internet safer and more equitable for all. We’ll discuss everything from what Twitter should do to decrease harassment on its platform to how online games might be designed to reduce the possibility of harassment.
Participation is free but seats are limited.
