Juliette Melton - Speaker on The Conference 2015

Juliette Melton

Design Researcher, The New York Times

United States

What you'll learn

  • How to scale your insights in the right way by starting where you are
  • How to drive organizational change, whether data-related or not

In a session called The Craft of Data Juliette will reframe what we mean when we talk about data, and instead, consider: how do we learn at scale in order to be more strategic? In this talk, Juliette will share how her team at IDEO reframed the question of "whither data?" by starting where they were as human-centered designers, and collaboratively built a flexible, human-centered data practice. She'll share case studies about how data can become a friendly part of the conversation.

Juliette is a design researcher and strategist whose work centers on bringing human perspectives to the innovation process. She's currently with The New York Times, where she guides in-depth design research programs that use qualitative and quantitative insights to inspire and inform international growth and product strategy. Previously, she spent several years with IDEO, where she led research programs for clients around the world.
