In a session on wearable technology Laura will speak about her experience designing and building a wearable product and share her vision for how wearable technology will evolve over time.
Laura Michelle Berman is the co-founder of Melon, a brainwave-monitoring headband and award-winning mobile application for measuring and improving focus. Early in 2015, Melon was acquired by Daqri, the maker of an augmented reality Smart Helmet for industry. Currently, Laura is focused on continuing Melon’s consumer brand, as well as integrating biosensors into the Daqri Smart Helmet.
While at Melon, Laura worked on every aspect of building the product, including living in Shenzhen, China for the prototyping and production phases of the hardware, and creating the brand and designing the software as the Startup in Residence at IDEO in Cambridge, MA.
