In a session on responsiveness, Senongo will talk about culturally responsive design. He will discuss how cultural variables can affect our perception, and how to build visual and cultural diversity into design in a thoughtful (and occasionally subversive) way.
Senongo Akpem is the founder of Pixel Fable, a collection of interactive African stories. He is also a senior designer at Cambridge University Press, where he leads branding and design projects for a global audience. He speaks and writes about digital storytelling, transmedia, and cross-cultural design issues. Senongo grew up in Nigeria, lived in Japan for almost a decade, and now lives in New York.
